44 Players Can Still Win It All

BadgerHoopla reclaimed the lead Sunday night when his namesake Wisconsin Badgers defeated Xavier on a last second shot. His lead would be even greater had Northern Iowa managed to hold a 12-point lead with 44 seconds left, as he was one of just four players with the Panthers over Texas A&M.

As it stands, Hoopla now needs the Badgers to keep winning. He is one of 16 players with Wisconsin in the Elite 8. A Wisconsin win over Notre Dame will help him shake off HotRod, currently in second place just one point behind.

HotRod and Hoopla only have two different picks the rest of the way: Hoopla has Wisconsin and Duke in the Elite 8, while HotRod has Oregon and West Virgina. HotRod will need wins by Notre Dame and Oregon to put Hoopla in his rearview mirror.

K8Burst and former champion Blizzard T. Husky sit in third and fourth place, respectively, and they also have the Badgers advancing another round. They each picked Michigan State to win it all—but they’re not out of it yet. According to Player Scenarios, each could still finish first.

Mrs. Mouse (Amber Myszka) has been quietly putting together a very good tournament. She is in 6th place and took over the top spot in the projected standings from His Yugeness. Mrs. Mouse is the top-ranked player with the Villanova Wildcats as champion. And because she is one of just three players who picked Villanova (along with Maggie May and D’Vigorous Lover), she can afford to lose a couple games and still win the Big Cheese as long as the Wildcats keep winning.
